March 2004

Dear Partners in Ministry,

“I will sing of the mercies of the LORD forever:  with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.”  Lamentations 3:25

Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised.  The time is moving along quickly, and we are getting closer to our January 2005 goal for departure.  We are being blessed through our time of deputation, but we are yearning for establishment in Uganda.  Each time we view our video presentation and see the people of Uganda, our desire to be there increases drastically.

Baby Update:

The life wrapped up lovingly in the womb of a caring mother is a miracle which never ceases to awe me.  Kristy and I were able to hear our baby’s heartbeat on March 2.  As the strong, resounding heartbeats rang forth from the doctor’s little black box, we got a lump in our throats and beamed smiles on our joyous faces.  Please continue to pray for the safety of Kristy and of our baby as we are now in the 15th week of pregnancy.

Monthly Support Update:

In the last update we gave the praise of someone giving $6,000 for a matching grant toward our vehicle fund.   Praise the Lord, we have received another $3250 so only $2750 is needed to complete the vehicle fund.  Anyone wishing to help with a tax-deductible gift of any amount toward the remaining balance can send it to BIMI, P.O. BOX 9215, CHATTANOOGA, TN 37412, and include our name, missionary number (#1295) and “Transportation” on the check.  We are looking forward to seeing how God will continue to provide.

Ministry Update:

We have been privileged to visit with many long-time friends in our recent travels, many of whom we have not seen in years.  The Lord has blessed with good meetings.  One conference was interesting because I was the shortest male missionary in the group, and I’m over 6 feet tall! While we were in a classroom in South Carolina, a little girl handed me $1 saying she hoped we could use it.  At another school, students collected over $400 to give toward our ministry.  How humbling yet how exciting to see God work in the lives of children!  The reality of the lost and dying world combined with a scriptural mandate should produce a soul-conscious heart in every Christian.

Please continue to keep us in your prayers. We truly appreciate the prayers of God’s people for us.

In His Service,

Tony & Kristy Applegate

CURRENT PRAYER REQUESTS:

Pray for the collection of the remaining amount on our vehicle fund.  Pray for souls to be saved and Christians to be called to the foreign mission field while we travel on deputation.  Pray for $2200 to come in quickly so the school building in Uganda can be finished this summer. (For more details on the building, please contact us.)
