Dear Partners in Ministry,
“The Lord is good unto them that wait for Him, to the soul that seeketh Him.”
Lamentations 3:25
Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised! This month has yielded many blessings from the Lord.
Let us begin with some exciting and long-awaited news. Kristy and I are going to be parents. God has answered our prayer and the prayers of many others in regard to a child. Kristy is due on September 17. God built our faith through this three-year process of praying and waiting on Him. God impressed on Kristy, while in Africa, that she would be with child by the end of 2003. Upon returning to America we prayed and waited anticipating God’s working hand. December came and went with no baby to announce. Many times God has to say to me “O ye of little faith.” The first week of January the pregnancy tests returned positive, and timing for conception had been the end of December. God is faithful. What He says, He will do.
Monthly Support Update:
In the end of January we had someone generously set up a matching grant to help us raise the money for a vehicle in Uganda. Up to $6000 will be matched dollar for dollar on anything given toward the vehicle. Anyone wishing to help with a tax-deductible gift of any amount toward matching the $6000, can send it to BIMI, P.O. BOX 9215, CHATTANOOGA, TN 37412, and include our name, missionary number (#1295) and “Transportation” on the check. We are looking forward to seeing how God will provide.
We have just hit 60% mark of our deputation goal. God has provided us with 2 more partnering churches. (Franklin Road Baptist Church, Murfreesboro TN; Grace Independent Baptist Church, Seminole, OK) I do not have room to name all the churches that have been such a blessing in the last month, but I can say the hospitality has been overwhelming and the concern for foreign missions has been outstanding.
Ministry Update:
I need to mention the blessing of Franklin Road Baptist Church’s mission conference. Kristy and I grew up in Franklin Road’s church and Christian school. It was encouraging to see God doing a mighty work through Pastor Norris and the pastoral staff. Memories flooded back while touring the church and school facilities. It was great to see again the Godly people who had an impact on my life growing up. It was an honor and joy to speak in teen church. Teen church was one of the first places I ever preached as a teenager. God used so many people in Franklin Road to mold our young lives, and we praise the Lord for them.
In His Service,
Tony & Kristy Applegate

CURRENT PRAYER REQUESTS:
Please pray for Chantal, a lady we knew well in Kyahi, Uganda. Her husband Mohammed, whom Tony baptized, was killed in an accident. His family is desiring to take away the children. Pray she will remain faithful and continue to trust God. Praise the Lord that 6 of his family members were saved the day following the funeral!
